Pecan Sandies
Description
Pecan Sandies start by creaming butter and granulated sugar, then adding water and vanilla extract for moisture and flavor. This creamy base is combined with all-purpose flour and chopped pecans to form a rich, nut-studded dough that is chilled for several hours, allowing flavors to meld and dough to firm up for easier handling.
Once chilled, the dough is rolled into balls and baked at 325°F until they develop a light golden color. While still warm, the cookies are rolled in powdered sugar, creating a sweet, slightly crisp coating that complements the tender, crumbly interior. The chopped pecans add a subtle crunch and depth of flavor.
These cookies are well suited for holiday baking or special occasions, providing a balance of buttery richness and nutty texture that pairs well with tea or coffee.
