Ingredients

Servings
  • 16 Cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 2 Cups mini marshmallows
  • 2 Peeps Marshmallow Candies 3 ounces each, purple color; in packs
  • 2 Peeps Marshmallow Candies 3 ounces each, pink color; in packs
  • 2 Peeps Marshmallow Candies 3 ounces each, blue color; in packs
  • 12 Tablespoons butter unsalted
  • cooking spray nonstick
  • Food Coloring optional, purple color

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9x13 pan with nonstick cooking spray and set aside.
  2. Place each color of peeps in their own large mixing bowl. Place the mini marshmallows in their own mixing bowl as well.
  3. Add 3 tablespoons of butter to each of the four bowls.
  4. Add the purple bowl to the microwave and heat on high for 1 minute and 15 seconds.
  5. Stir well until no color streaks appear. If you want a brighter or more prominent purple, add a couple drops of the food dye here.
  6. Immediately pour 4 cups rice cereal into the bowl and mix until the marshmallow is evenly distributed.
  7. Quickly pour into the prepared pan. Spread the mixture until it’s evenly across the bottom of the pan and press down to pack it in.
  8. Repeat steps 4-7 with the pink, white, and blue, in that order.
  9. Cover the pan and let it rest for 3 hours or until the treats have dried enough to be cut and not be overly gooey.

Notes

  • Transfer leftover treats to an airtight container with parchment paper in between layers if you have to stack them. They will stay fresh at room temperature for 1-2 weeks. You can store them in the fridge if you prefer, however you'll need to take them out to come to room temperature before eating!
