Description
This recipe starts with preparing a boxed fudge brownie mix, using the included egg and oil but adding peppermint extract for a refreshing mint flavor integrated throughout the brownies. Ingredients
- 1 box fudge brownie mix
- egg per box directions
- neutral cooking oil per box directions, generic cooking oil
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- 10 oz peppermint melting chips or white chocolate melting chips
- 1/4 cup candy cane pieces or Starlight Mints; crushed
Instructions
- Prepare brownie mix according to box directions, but add 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.
- Allow brownies to cool.
- Melt candy chips by microwaving for 60 seconds then stirring and repeating until melted and smooth.
- If you used white chips, add 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract to melted chips. and stir to mix.
- Quickly spread melted candy evenly over top of brownies and sprinkle sith crushed mints.
- Cut before the chocolate sets up.

- Use peppermint extract in both the brownie batter and melted topping for consistent mint flavor.
