Philly Cheesesteak Sliders
Description
The recipe starts by seasoning and cooking thinly sliced steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, ensuring the meat is flavorful and cooked through. Separately, diced green peppers and onions are sautéed until tender and any excess moisture is drained off to prevent soggy sandwiches. The bottom halves of slider rolls are spread lightly with mayonnaise, then topped evenly with the cooked steak and vegetables.
Slices of provolone cheese are layered over the fillings before the roll tops are replaced. A mixture of melted butter and finely diced raw onion is brushed over the tops to encourage browning and add flavor. Baking the assembled sliders covered first, then uncovered, melts the cheese and toasts the bread nicely. This process binds the flavors and results in tender, cheesy sliders ideal for parties or casual meals.
