Piña Colada Sorbet

Piña Colada Sorbet blends fresh pineapple, light coconut milk, and a touch of dark rum into a smooth frozen treat. Sweetened with sugar and brightened by lime juice, this sorbet balances tropical flavors with a creamy yet icy texture. Making the mixture in a blender and chilling it before processing ensures a consistently smooth sorbet. The option to add coconut extract enhances the coconut aroma. This sorbet is a refreshing dessert ideal for warm days or after meals.

Description

The Piña Colada Sorbet combines fresh pineapple cubes with light canned coconut milk, granulated sugar, and lime juice to capture the classic tropical piña colada flavor in a dairy-free frozen form. A small amount of dark rum is incorporated to add subtle depth and authentic character. After blending all the ingredients until smooth, chilling the mixture thoroughly ensures a good texture before freezing in an ice cream maker. This results in a bright, fruity sorbet with creamy notes from the coconut milk and fresh acidity from pineapple and lime.

The preparation is straightforward, relying on blending and then freezing with regular stirring or with an ice cream maker to prevent ice crystals. The sorbet’s flavor is clean and refreshing, ideal for warm weather desserts or palate cleansers. Optional coconut extract can be added for a more intense coconut flavor.

Store the sorbet in an airtight container in the freezer. For best serving texture, allow the sorbet to freeze for a couple of hours before serving to let it firm up properly. It can be enjoyed alone or paired with tropical fruits or light cakes.
