Pineapple Crisp

Pineapple Crisp features well-drained crushed pineapple topped with a smooth mixture of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, egg, lime juice, zest, and coconut extract. Melted butter and warm spices of cinnamon and nutmeg are added before baking to produce a golden, tender topping. This dessert balances sweet and tangy pineapple with a lightly spiced, fragrant crisp crust.

Description

This Pineapple Crisp recipe layers drained crushed pineapple at the bottom of a baking dish before covering it with a rich topping composed of flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, egg, lime juice, lime zest, and coconut extract. The topping is spooned evenly over the pineapple, then melted butter is drizzled atop and dusted with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Baking at 350 °F for 40 to 45 minutes softens the pineapple and creates a golden brown crust on the topping. The lime and coconut flavors give the topping a refreshing complexity alongside the pineapple’s sweet acidity. The warming spices add a subtle aromatic note that complements the tropical ingredients.

Serve the crisp either hot or cold depending on preference. It can be enjoyed as a bright, fruit-forward dessert with a satisfying contrast between juicy pineapple and a tender, flavorful topping.
