Pineapple Dump Cake

Pineapple Dump Cake layers drained pineapple tidbits and maraschino cherries in a buttered pan, covered with yellow cake mix, pineapple juice, melted butter, and brown sugar. Baked until the top is golden and slightly crunchy, it offers a moist fruit base with a soft yet crisp topping. This straightforward dessert appeals with its contrast between juicy fruit and crumbly cake coating and can be eaten warm or cold.

Description

The Pineapple Dump Cake brings together sweet pineapple tidbits and cherries as a juicy foundation. These fruit layers are topped with dry yellow cake mix, which absorbs moisture from the fruit juice and melted butter drizzled over it. Baking covered at 350°F softens the cake mix, while removing the foil to finish baking creates a slightly crunchy golden crust. The light brown sugar added on top adds a hint of caramelized sweetness and texture contrast.

This cake works as a casual dessert or a sweet addition to afternoon gatherings and can be served either warm for a tender texture or cold for a firmer slice. Its ease of assembly saves time without sacrificing flavor balance between fruit and cake.

No special preparation is required before baking aside from draining fruit and reserving juice. Baking times ensure the topping crisps up appropriately without drying the fruit underneath. Leftovers can be stored covered in the refrigerator and reheated gently if desired.
