Pineapple Orange Creamsicle Recipe + VIDEO
Description
The Pineapple Orange Creamsicle is made by dissolving sugar in orange-pineapple juice and mixing it with heavy cream and vanilla extract to form a creamy base. This base is poured into popsicle molds and partially frozen. After one hour, additional juice is added on top, and wooden sticks are inserted before freezing again until solid. This two-stage freezing technique creates a layered, creamy popsicle with a smooth texture and a vibrant citrus flavor from the juice blend.
The dessert balances the tangy sweetness of pineapple and orange with the richness from the cream and vanilla, offering a pleasing contrast in flavors and mouthfeel. It can be enjoyed as a cooling treat on warm days or any time you desire a combination of fruit and cream flavors in frozen form.
Ingredients
- 2 cups orange-pineapple juice
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Pour 1/2 cup juice and 1/2 sugar in a microwave-safe bowl. Warm for 1-2 minutes until the sugar dissolves into the juice. Then pour in the rest of the juice and stir.
- In a separate bowl (or measuring pitcher) pour in the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and 1 1/4 cups of the sweetened juice. Stir well. Then pour the mixture into 10 standard popsicle molds.
- Freeze the popsicles for 1 hour. Then pour the remaining juice over the top of each popsicle and add wooden popsicle sticks. Freeze again for at least 3 hours.
