Pizza Baked Tortellini

This Pizza Baked Tortellini recipe combines cheese-filled tortellini with marinara sauce and a pizza topping blend of mozzarella, pepperoni, olives, and mushrooms. The assembled dish is baked until bubbly and golden, yielding a hearty, cheesy casserole that merges pasta comfort with familiar pizza flavors. Optional fresh basil adds a bright touch to finish.

Description

Pizza Baked Tortellini starts with refrigerated cheese tortellini combined with marinara sauce and a splash of water in an ovenproof skillet. It is layered with shredded mozzarella cheese and topped with classic pizza ingredients such as pepperoni slices, black olives, and mushrooms. This blend is then baked at 425°F until the cheese melts and the sauce thickens, creating a unified pasta and pizza dish.

The baking produces a warm, bubbling casserole where tender tortellini absorb the rich tomato sauce and meld with the savory toppings. The pepperoni contributes a slightly spicy, smoky note while the olives and mushrooms provide briny and earthy contrasts. Adding fresh basil at the end introduces a refreshing herbal aroma and flavor that lighten the richness.

This dish is a versatile meal ideal for when you want the flavors of pizza combined with a filling pasta base. It can serve as a main course family meal or casual dinner and requires minimal preparation. The hearty layers come together in a single dish for easy serving and cleanup.
