Notes

  • Recipe tips.
  • Prep ahead of time. Prep the pizza a day ahead of time. Store, covered, in the fridge until you're ready to bake. If needed, add a couple more minutes to the baking time to account for the chilled ingredients.
  • Freezer meal. Bake the dish before freezing. Cover the cooled pizza with plastic wrap and again with foil and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw before reheating in the oven. Smaller portions can be heated in the microwave.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container(s) in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
  •
  • Smaller pan. Divide the ingredients evenly using two 8-inch square baking dishes and bake for 18-20 minutes. Serve one, and cool and freeze the other for later.
  • We love classic pepperoni, but any favorite pizza toppings can be used.
  • We use refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough, but flaky biscuits or even pizza dough can be used.
  • The sauce may cause the biscuit pieces to be tacky on the outside, but the interior will be fully cooked. For further baking, tent a piece of tin foil over the top until cooked through.
