Pizza Monkey Bread
Description
Pizza Monkey Bread starts by tossing refrigerated biscuit dough quarters with pepperoni and shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. A mixture of melted butter, olive oil, Italian seasoning, and garlic or garlic powder coats all components thoroughly. This mixture is then transferred to a greased Bundt pan and baked at 350°F for 35 to 45 minutes, covered partway through to prevent over-browning. The bread develops a golden crust with soft, flavorful interior pulls that highlight the combination of savory meats, cheeses, and herbs.
Once baked, the bread is inverted onto a plate so the golden top is visible, and pieces can be pulled apart and dipped into warm marinara sauce. This presentation encourages casual sharing and adds a bright tomato contrast to the rich bread.
This bread can alternatively be baked in a 9x13-inch dish, reducing bake time to about 30 minutes. Checking for doneness towards the end ensures the dough is fully cooked without burning the top.
Ingredients
- 2 (16.3 ounce) cans Biscuits quartered, refrigerated
- 6 ounces pepperoni quartered
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
- 1/2 /2 cup Parmesan Cheese shredded or grated
- 1/4 /4 cup butter melted and slightly cooled
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 2 teaspoons garlic or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, minced
- marinara sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, add all the ingredients (except marinara) and toss well until combined.
- Pour mixture into a greased 10-inch Bundt pan (you can also use a 9x13 baking dish). Bake for 35-45 minutes or until rolls are cooked on the inside; cover with foil after 20 minutes or until top is browned. Check every 5 minutes towards end of cooking to see if done.
- Remove from oven and loosen edges of bread with a knife. Invert Bundt pan on a plate and then invert onto a serving plate so that the pretty side is up. Pull apart and dip in warm marinara.
Notes
- Pizza Monkey Bread can also be baked in a 9x13-inch baking dish, reducing baking time to about 30 minutes.
- Cover the pan with foil after about 20 minutes to prevent the top from browning too much while finishing baking.
- Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping to complement the cheesy, savory flavors.
