Description
Making Pizza on the Blackstone grill starts by preheating the grill to medium-high heat, approximately 350°F. Pepperoni slices are quickly sautéed on the grill to heat through and slightly crisp. Then, the pizza crusts are spread with pizza sauce and topped with shredded mozzarella cheese and the heated pepperoni slices. The pizza is assembled off-grill on a cutting board for easy handling.
The prepared pizzas are slid onto the grill grates and cooked covered for 6 to 12 minutes until the crust turns golden brown on the bottom and the cheese melts fully. The grilling process imparts slightly smoky flavors and a crisp crust compared to traditional oven-baking.
After cooking, the pizzas rest briefly before slicing and serving. The recipe suggests leftover pizzas can be refrigerated for up to five days in an airtight container.
Ingredients
- 2 pizza crust pre-made, 12"
- 2/3 cup pizza sauce
- 8 oz mozzarella cheese shredded
- 20-22 lices pepperoni
Instructions
- Preheat the Blackstone grill over medium high heat (approximately 350 degrees F).
- Sauté the pepperonis for 30 seconds on each side to heat up the pepperoni.
- Then assemble the pizzas. Spread approximately 1/3 cup pizza sauce on each pre-made pizza crust. Then top with the mozzarella cheese and the heated up pepperonis. I prepared my pizzas on a cutting board so that it was easy to slide them onto the grill.
- Then slide the prepared pizzas onto the grill. Cover and cook for 6-12 minutes until the bottom of the crusts are golden brown and the cheese on top has melted.
- Carefully remove the pizzas from the grill, let them sit for a few minutes. Then they are ready to slice, serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Customize your pizza with any favorite toppings beyond pepperoni before grilling.
- Store leftover pizzas in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
