Pork Giniling Recipe

Pork Giniling is a savory Filipino ground pork dish simmered with tomato sauce, vegetables, and spices until tender and mixed with melted cheese and hard-boiled eggs. The combination of butter and calamansi juice adds a balance of richness and acidity, resulting in a hearty meal served traditionally with rice.

Description

This Pork Giniling recipe starts by sautéing garlic and onion until aromatic, then cooking them with tomato sauce and paste until the oil separates, which deepens flavor. Ground pork is browned and simmered with water, soy sauce, and calamansi juice for a balanced salty and tangy depth. Butter is added to enrich the sauce, then vegetables including diced carrots, potatoes, and bell peppers are cooked until tender.

The dish is finished by stirring in grated cheese to melt through the mixture and adding green peas and chopped hard-boiled eggs. This layering of textures from tender meat, soft vegetables, creamy cheese, and the bite of eggs creates a well-rounded and comforting main dish. Pork Giniling is commonly served with steamed rice to soak up its flavorful sauce.
