Pound Cake French Toast Recipe
Description
This Pound Cake French Toast recipe involves soaking slices of pound cake in a mixture of beaten eggs, milk, vanilla extract, almond extract, ground cinnamon, and salt. Pound cake provides a dense, buttery base that absorbs the egg custard well without becoming overly soggy. After dipping, the slices are cooked in melted butter over medium heat until each side turns golden brown.
The result is a crispy exterior with a soft and flavorful center, enhanced by the warming spices and extracts. This preparation is simple but allows the pound cake to be transformed into a breakfast or dessert dish with familiar French toast textures and flavors.
The finished French toast can be topped with syrup, fresh fruit, or powdered sugar according to preference, making it versatile for breakfast or a sweet treat.
