Pretzel Toffee

Pretzel Toffee combines crunchy pretzels with a buttery, caramelized toffee layer topped with melted milk or dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. Baking the pretzels coated in toffee caramelizes the sugar, creating a rich sweet and salty treat. Once cooled and hardened, the toffee breaks into crunchy pieces for snacking or dessert.

Description

Pretzel Toffee starts by layering pretzels on parchment paper, then pouring a cooked mixture of melted butter and brown sugar over them. This mixture is cooked until it reaches a light brown color to develop the toffee base. The coated pretzels bake for 10 minutes to set the toffee layer. Then, chocolate chips (milk or dark) and white chocolate chips are sprinkled on top, allowed to melt, and spread evenly to cover the toffee. After cooling at room temperature and refrigerating until hardened, the toffee is broken into pieces. The combination of crunchy pretzels and rich toffee with smooth chocolate creates a decadent treat that balances sweet and salty flavors. The recipe includes tips to avoid grainy toffee by gentle stirring and careful cooking and recommends storage in an airtight container with parchment layers in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
