Description
This recipe layers individual mini pretzels on a baking sheet, topped with one Rolo candy each. The tray is warmed in a 3008F oven just long enough to soften the Rolos’ chocolate and caramel. A pecan half is then pressed into each candy before chilling until the chocolate solidifies again.
The result is a crisp pretzel base with soft, chewy caramel-chocolate topping and crunchy pecan, delivering a mix of salty and sweet textures in each bite. They hold shape well when cooled and stored correctly.
Pretzel Turtles are easy to prepare for gatherings, snacks, or gifts. They store best at room temperature in a single layer to prevent the softened chocolate from sticking or melting.
Ingredients
- 1 (11 oz) bag Rolo candies 50 Rolo's
- 50 pretzels mini
- 50 pecan halves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line an 18 by 13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lay pretzels in a single layer on baking sheet then place one Rolo candy in the center of each pretzel.
- Warm in preheated oven just until chocolate and caramel have softened, about 4 minutes.
- Remove from oven then press 1 pecan into each Rolo candy. Transfer baking sheet to refrigerator and chill until chocolate has set.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature (preferably in a single layer - the chocolate softens up just a little at room temperature).
