Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus
Description
This recipe begins by trimming tough ends from asparagus and brushing each spear with olive oil. The asparagus is briefly grilled or broiled just until tender but not browned, preserving its bright green color and fresh flavor. After cooling, each spear is wrapped with a thin slice of prosciutto, adding a cured, salty contrast.
Shaved Parmesan cheese is sprinkled on top, bringing a nutty richness, and olive oil is drizzled to add moisture and shine. A simple seasoning of kosher salt and cracked black pepper finishes the dish, enhancing the natural flavors.
The resulting appetizer or side combines the snap of asparagus with the savory depth of prosciutto and cheese, ideal for serving warm or at room temperature alongside grilled meats or as part of a vegetable platter.
