Protein Ice Cream

This Protein Ice Cream comes in chocolate and vanilla variations, crafted from frozen bananas blended with almond milk and protein powder to create a creamy, ice-cream-like dessert without added sugar. The chocolate version includes almond butter, cocoa powder, and optional chocolate chips or cacao nibs, while the vanilla mixes vanilla extract and a touch of cinnamon for warmth. Both types have a rich texture achieved by blending frozen fruit until smooth and can be eaten soft-serve style or frozen firm for scooping.

Description

The Protein Ice Cream recipe uses frozen banana chunks as the base, blended with almond milk and protein powder to form a creamy frozen treat. The chocolate version incorporates almond butter and cocoa powder, enhancing richness and depth, with optional chocolate chips or cacao nibs mixed in for texture. The vanilla variation uses vanilla extract and cinnamon to provide fragrant and slightly spicy notes alongside the protein powder.

Preparation involves pulsing the ingredients in a food processor until smooth and creamy, which takes a few minutes with intermittent stirring. The mixture can be enjoyed immediately for a soft-serve texture or placed in the freezer to firm up for scoopable servings. This homemade ice cream alternative allows control over added ingredients and can be customized with favorite toppings.

The notes recommend adding toppings such as berries, nuts, or chocolate chips to complement the flavors and add variety in texture, making it adaptable to different preferences and occasions.
