Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed cookie sheet with a piece of foil or parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. With a serrated knife, slice slider buns in half horizontally, cutting evenly and keeping the rolls connected. Once separated, there should be a large bottom "bun" and a large top "bun." Set the top bun aside while you assemble.
  3. Place the bottom bun on the parchment paper lined baking sheet, cut side up. Brush about 1/3 of the melted butter onto the bottom bun, cut side.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the pulled pork with the barbecue sauce. Spoon the pulled pork onto with sauce onto the bottom bun. Add the pinecapple pieces on top of the pork.
  5. Add thinly sliced onion and top with slices of cheese. Put the top bun on top of the cheese layer.
  6. To the remaining melted butter, whisk in worcestershire sauce, garlic salt, and brown sugar. Drizzle nearly all the butter on top of the buns (leaving just a small bit in the bowl). Sprinkle the buns with sesame seeds.
  7. Place a piece of foil loosely over the top of the buns. Bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5-10 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and brush on the remaining butter. Lift buns off baking sheet with a large spatula under the foil or parchment paper and place on a cutting board. Cut sandwiches into individual sliders and serve hot!

Notes

  • Use any variety slider buns you love. I prefer Hawaiian sweet rolls, but the pretzel sliders are delicious too!
  • You'll need about 1 pound of cooked, pulled pork. You can either buy store bought, already cooked pork, or try one of my recipes! Root Beer pulled pork, Kalua Pulled pork, or Instant Pot pulled pork are great! This is a great recipe to use leftover meat.
  • If you prefer coleslaw, you can skip the layer of pineapple and pile on a scoop of coleslaw after baking.
  • I prefer my buns crispier than soft, so I bake mine closer to the 20 minute mark. However my kids prefer the buns soft, so you decide how you like them!
  • Store leftover sliders in refrigerator in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in microwave or air fryer until warm.
