Pumpkin Bars

Pumpkin Bars are moist, spiced bars made from pumpkin puree, eggs, oil, and sugar, combined with flour and warming spices. Topped with a smooth cream cheese frosting, they offer soft, tender texture and balanced sweetness ideal for seasonal dessert or snack.

Description

This recipe blends pumpkin puree with eggs, vegetable oil, and granulated sugar for moisture and richness. Dry ingredients of flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt create the spiced structure. The batter is mixed gently and baked in a 13 by 10-inch pan until set.

The resulting bars are soft with a tender crumb and pleasant cinnamon aroma. Once cooled, they are frosted with a creamy mixture of cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for a tangy-sweet contrast.

Substituting half the oil with applesauce can reduce fat content without sacrificing moisture. These bars are suitable for casual gatherings or dessert and cut easily for serving.
