Pumpkin Spice Crisp

Pumpkin Spice Crisp features a smooth pumpkin filling blended with spices, eggs, sugar, vanilla, and heavy cream, baked beneath a crumbly topping of butter, flour, brown sugar, oats, pecans, and pumpkin pie spice. The topping creates a crunchy contrast to the creamy pumpkin custard base. Baking until set but slightly puffed yields a comforting fall dessert with warm spice aroma. Serving warm with vanilla ice cream complements the texture and flavors.

Description

This Pumpkin Spice Crisp combines a rich filling made from pumpkin puree, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and heavy cream whisked together until smooth. The filling is poured into a baking pan and topped with a crumbly mixture of butter, flour, brown sugar, oats, chopped pecans, salt, and additional pumpkin pie spice. The topping adds a nutty, sweet, and spiced crunch that contrasts the tender filling beneath.

Baked at 375°F until the center is just set and slightly puffed, the dessert achieves a creamy texture with a spiced, comforting flavor profile. The use of canned pumpkin puree ensures consistent texture, while the spices deepen the autumnal character. The pecans and oats provide added texture and nutty notes.

Serving warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, enhances the creamy texture and balances the spice. This crisp dessert fits well for seasonal celebrations or as a treat highlighting pumpkin's versatility. The recipe is straightforward, focusing on layering contrasting textures and balanced seasonal flavors.
