Quick and easy curry rice
Description
The recipe begins by sautéing finely chopped onion until translucent. Then garlic, ginger, turmeric, and curry powder are added briefly to release their flavors. Rice is stirred in to coat the grains with oil and spices before liquid is added. Simmering allows the rice to absorb the flavors and cook through. Peas are folded in near the end for additional texture and sweetness.
The cooking method creates fluffy rice with warm spice notes and savory depth. The turmeric provides a golden hue while the curry powder adds subtle complexity. The peas offer a pop of softness and color that freshens each bite.
This curry rice is suitable as a flavorful side dish to accompany curries, grilled meats, or vegetable mains but can also be a simple vegetarian main on its own.
