Raspberry Rice Krispie Treats
Description
This recipe starts by melting butter and mini marshmallows together, then folding in Rice Krispies cereal and freeze-dried raspberries, which add concentrated fruit flavor without moisture that would otherwise affect texture. Part of the dark chocolate is incorporated into the mix for richness. The mixture is pressed into a lined baking pan and spread evenly.
Additional dark chocolate is melted and drizzled on top, then sprinkled with more freeze-dried raspberries to add visual appeal and fragrance. The treats are chilled in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes to set firmly before slicing. The result is a crunchy yet chewy bar with a fruity raspberry note and chocolate accents.
These treats are well suited for snack time or dessert and can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer. The recipe emphasizes using freeze-dried raspberries—not fresh—to maintain the desired texture and flavor concentration. Storage instructions ensure freshness and prevent sogginess.
Store the treats in the refrigerator for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.Use freeze-dried raspberries rather than fresh ones to preserve texture and flavor.Freeze-dried raspberries can typically be found in specialty or general grocery stores.
