Really Easy Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce

Really Easy Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce features dried spaghetti served with a gently simmered tomato sauce made from canned tomatoes, brown sugar, oregano, olive oil, and garlic. The sauce is cooked low and slow to develop a mild, balanced flavor with a tender texture. It’s a straightforward pasta meal that can be topped with Parmesan cheese for extra richness and served immediately for best texture.

Description

This recipe prepares a simple tomato sauce by combining canned, chopped tomatoes with brown sugar, dried oregano, olive oil, and garlic cloves. The garlic is crushed and peeled before adding to the sauce, which is then brought to a gentle simmer and cooked for about 30 minutes on low heat. This slow cooking softens the tomato flavors and balances acidity with sugar, creating a mild and lightly seasoned sauce.

Meanwhile, dried spaghetti is cooked in salted boiling water until tender (following package instructions for timing), then drained. The sauce is poured over the hot pasta and can be garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired, adding a salty, creamy component that complements the simple sauce.

Serving the pasta immediately ensures the noodles remain al dente and the sauce retains its fresh flavor. This straightforward dish uses accessible ingredients and classic techniques, making it suitable for a basic yet satisfying meal.
