Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
Description
This recipe replicates the famous Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits, starting by combining both all-purpose and cake flours with baking powder and soda, salt, garlic powder, and adding softened cubed butter which is rubbed into the mixture to form coarse crumbs. Shredded cheddar cheese is folded in, and then buttermilk is added to form a soft batter rather than a traditional dough.
The batter is portioned in large spoonfuls onto parchment-lined baking sheets and baked at a high temperature until the tops are puffed and golden. After partial baking, the biscuits are removed and brushed with a garlic butter mixture made of melted butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, and dried parsley. They are returned to the oven to bake a few more minutes until the topping melds with the biscuit tops, enhancing aroma and flavor.
The final biscuits are tender inside with a cheesy body and a flavorful, garlicky, buttery crust, suitable for accompaniment to seafood or other meals.
