Red Velvet Brownies with Cream Cheese Frosting
Description
These Red Velvet Brownies start with melting bittersweet chocolate and unsalted butter, creating a rich base for the batter. Granulated sugar and eggs are whisked separately before being combined with the chocolate mixture. All-purpose flour, red food coloring, baking powder, and vanilla extract are folded in, yielding a batter with a characteristic red hue and deep chocolate flavor enhanced by the food coloring. The batter is poured into a parchment-lined pan and baked until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
Once cooled, the brownies receive a cream cheese frosting made by beating softened cream cheese and butter until smooth, then adding powdered sugar and vanilla extract. This frosting adds a tangy sweetness that complements the dense, fudgy texture of the red velvet brownies.
These brownies are suitable for serving as a dessert or special snack, offering a visually appealing and indulgent treat. The recipe calls for precise baking time to maintain moistness while ensuring doneness.
