Red Velvet Poke Cake

Report
The Red Velvet Poke Cake uses a boxed red velvet mix baked in a 9x13 pan, with holes poked after baking to infuse sweetened condensed milk throughout the cake. This soaking step creates a rich, moist texture. The cake is finished with a cream cheese frosting that includes butter and vanilla, and topped with mini chocolate chips for added sweetness and texture. Chilling the cake overnight allows flavors to meld and the frosting to set nicely.

Description

Red Velvet Poke Cake begins with a classic red velvet cake mix baked in a pan. Once slightly cooled, holes are poked evenly across the cake to allow sweetened condensed milk to seep in, creating a tender and moist crumb throughout. The cream cheese frosting combines softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla to balance the sweetness and add creaminess. Mini chocolate chips sprinkled on top add sweetness and a gentle crunch. Chilling the cake overnight enhances the melding of flavors and helps the frosting set firm, but it can also be served at room temperature. This dessert blends the familiar flavors of red velvet with a moist texture and rich cream cheese topping, suitable for celebrations and casual gatherings alike.
