Ingredients

  • 1 C butter unsalted
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 C sugar
  • 1 egg large, yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 3 tsp red gel food coloring
  • 3 1/4 C flour
  • 1/4 C cornstarch
  • 1/4 C cocoa powder Hershey's brand
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 - 3 in heart-shaped cookie cutter

White Chocolate Frosting

  • 1 C butter unsalted
  • 12 oz white chocolate melted and cooled
  • 1 C powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract pure
  • 2 C Sprinkles Valentine’s Day

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, cornstarch, cocoa powder, and salt.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
  3. Using a standing mixer, beat the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until combined, smooth and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg yolk, vanilla, and red food coloring.
  5. Gradually beat in the dry ingredients until combined and a dough forms.
  6. Sprinkle flour onto a cutting board and roll the cookie dough to 1/4in thick.
  7. Cut out heart-shaped cookies and place them onto the cookie sheets.
  8. Bake in the oven for 12-14 minutes or until set around the edges.
  9. Remove and allow to cool completely.
  10. Using a standing mixer, beat the butter and vanilla until light in color.
  11. Gradually beat in the melted white chocolate.
  12. Beat in the powdered sugar until combined.
  13. Scoop the frosting into the disposable piping bag and cut the tip-off.
  14. Pipe an outline around the edge of the cookies.
  15. Fill in the center with the frosting and smooth with an angled spatula.
  16. Sprinkle some valentine's Day sprinkles on top.
  17. Allow the frosting to harden before enjoying the cookies!
