Reese's Brownie recipe

This Reese's Brownie recipe features rich chocolate brownies topped with a creamy peanut butter frosting and finished with melted chocolate and chopped Reese's pieces. The base brownie has a fudgy texture made from butter, semi-sweet chocolate, cocoa powder, sugar, eggs, and vanilla, baked until just set. The frosting uses smooth peanut butter blended with butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla, balancing sweetness and richness.

Description

The recipe starts by melting butter with semi-sweet chocolate to create a glossy, smooth batter combined with sugar and eggs. Cocoa powder and flour are gently folded in to maintain a dense, fudgy brownie texture after baking. Once cooled, the peanut butter frosting is spread across the brownies, delivering a creamy, nutty layer that contrasts with the chocolate base.

To complete the dessert, semi-sweet chocolate is melted with butter and poured over the frosted brownies, then topped generously with chopped Reese's pieces. This topping adds crunch and more peanut-chocolate flavor. The final product is rich and indulgent with multiple layers of smooth chocolate and peanut butter textures.

This dessert serves well at gatherings or as a special treat, with a thick, decadent consistency that pairs well with milk or coffee. The brownie pan size and baking times yield a sturdy but tender cake that can be sliced easily.

Ingredients

Servings

For the brownies:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 8 oz chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 5 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the frosting

  • 4 tbsp butter softened
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter creamy
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp milk

For the topping:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped Reese's

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350. Line a 13 x 9 inch pan with foil or parchment and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in chocolate chips, and melt, stirring frequently. When there are no more lumps, remove from heat and stir in sugar and vanilla. Add the eggs one at a time, and mix until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Fold in the cocoa powder, salt, and flour, and mix until barely combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted one inch from the side of the pan comes out clean. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
  4. When the brownies are cool, beat together the softened butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla. Add milk until the frosting reaches a smooth consistency. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.
  5. Add the chocolate chips and butter to a small microwave bowl. Microwave at 50% power for 30 second intervals, stirring in between, until melted and smooth. Pour into a piping bag (or Ziploc bag), cut off a small corner of the bag, and drizzle the chocolate over the frosting. Sprinkle with the Reese's candies. Let cool and set up before serving.
