Reese's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pie

The Reese's Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Pie features a crunchy Oreo cookie crust filled with a creamy peanut butter mixture, topped with a smooth chocolate ganache made from melted chocolate chips and Reese's peanut butter cups. Chilled until firm, this pie offers a rich balance of sweet chocolate and peanut butter flavors with a variety of textures for a decadent dessert.

Description

This pie begins with a crust made from crushed Oreo cookies mixed with melted butter and pressed into a pie plate, then chilled to set. The filling is a creamy blend of peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar whipped together until light. Over this, a warm chocolate ganache made from chocolate chips, chopped Reese's peanut butter cups, and heavy cream is poured, forming a glossy rich topping once chilled.

The combination of textures—from the crumbly cookie crust to the smooth peanut butter filling and silky chocolate layer—creates a satisfying dessert that pairs well with a dollop of homemade whipped cream. Chilling the pie for several hours ensures it firms up properly and is best served cold.

Originating from a recipe adapted from Kevin and Amanda, this pie captures the classic Reese's peanut butter and chocolate pairing in a layered pie format, making it suitable for sharing at gatherings or as a special treat.

Ingredients

Servings

Chocolate OREO Crust:

  • 28 Oreo cookies crushed
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Creamy Peanut Butter Filling:

  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter creamy
  • 1/2 cup butter softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 4 Reese's peanut butter cups
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Topping:

  • Reese's peanut butter cups chopped

Instructions

  1. Crush the OREO cookies in food processor or ziploc bag until fine. Add melted butter and stir until combined.
  2. Press cookie crust on the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Freeze for 10 minutes.
  3. In mixing bowl, add peanut butter, softened butter, and powdered sugar. Cream until smooth and fluffy. Spread over crust and return to freezer.
  4. Place chocolate chips and 4 Reese's Peanut Butter cups in a heat-proof bowl. Place heavy cream in the microwave for 30-45 seconds or until warm. Pour into chocolate and stir until smooth. If it isn't smooth enough and melting, place in microwave for 10-15 seconds. Stir until chocolate is glossy and smooth.
  5. Pour over peanut butter layer and return to freezer. Let freeze for 1-2 hours. Top with chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
  6. May serve with homemade whipped cream.
  7. Best served chilled.

Notes

  • Chill the pie thoroughly to allow layers to set for clean slices.
  • For easier ganache melting, heat cream until just warm before adding to chocolate.
  • Serving with homemade whipped cream adds a light, airy contrast to the rich pie.
