Reese's Peanut Butter Fudge
Description
The Reese's peanut butter fudge starts with an 8x8 glass dish lined with foil and lightly greased. Whole Reese's peanut butter cups form the base layer, lodged into the bottom of the dish. Milk chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk are microwaved and stirred together until smooth and melted, creating a dense chocolate mixture that is then poured over the peanut butter cups.
Chopped peanut butter cups are pressed on top before the fudge cools to room temperature to help set the layers. Once firm, the fudge is refrigerated until solid enough to be removed from the pan and cut into squares. The combination delivers creamy chocolate with pockets of peanut butter from the cups, yielding a sweet and textured bite.
This fudge requires patience as it needs about an hour at room temperature before refrigerating, allowing the chocolate to fully meld with the peanut butter cups underneath. It's a convenient and indulgent dessert or gift item that relies on simple ingredients and no-bake preparation.
Ingredients
- 3 cups milk chocolate chips or opt for semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz can
- 24 Reese's peanut butter cups unwrapped and divided
Instructions
- Line 8x8 glass dish with foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray lightly. Line with 16 whole Reese's {as pictured above.} Set aside.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, stir chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk together and microwave in 30 second increments until smooth and completely melted. Pour over peanut butter cups and smooth the tops.
- Chop up the remaining Reese's and press into the top. Bring to room temperature {about 1 hour} before refrigerating. Once it's pretty solid, remove from the pan using the foil and cut into squares. Serve.
