Reheat Fried Chicken In Air Fryer

This method reheats leftover fried chicken using an air fryer to restore crispiness and ensure food safety. Cooking frozen fried chicken at a controlled temperature crisps the exterior while thoroughly heating the inside. An optional olive oil spray can refresh the crust’s texture towards the end of reheating.

Description

Reheating fried chicken in an air fryer involves placing frozen pieces into the basket and heating at 160°C (320°F) for about 16 minutes. The air fryer circulation crisps the skin without drying the meat inside. Checking doneness is important using a thermometer to confirm the internal temperature reaches at least 75°C for safety. Alternatively, testing heat by touch can provide a practical gauge.

The optional step of spraying a light coat of extra virgin olive oil in the last minutes enhances crispness and adds a fresh layer of flavor. This method quickly revives fried chicken from refrigerated or frozen states and pairs well with various sides. It offers a convenient technique to enjoy leftovers without losing texture.

Using a thermometer is recommended for precise safety confirmation. If unavailable, testing heat with a knife and finger can be a practical in-home method. This guidance helps prevent underheated leftovers while retaining fried chicken’s characteristic crunch.

  • Check the chicken at the alert beep during reheating to avoid overcooking or undercooking.
