Rice Krispies Easter Nests

Making Easter egg nests out of Rice Krispies© is adorable and simple! The nests are made with the long-established Rice Krispies© treats recipe. I sprinkled a bit of cocoa powder to the mixture making the nests darker in color and gave them a hint of chocolate flavor.

  2. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Add cereal and cocoa powder, if using. Stir until well coated.
  4. Divide warm mixture into muffin-pan cups or small ramekins coated with cooking spray. Shape mixture into individual cups. Cool. Remove from pans.
  5. Fill cooled nests with coconut, robin eggs, and marshmallow chicks. Best if served the same day.

Notes

  •  In the nests, my children placed malted milk candy robin egg candies and marshmallow chicks but you can fill them with anything you like.
