Ricotta Stuffed Shells

Ricotta Stuffed Shells are jumbo pasta shells filled with a creamy mixture of ricotta, eggs, herbs, garlic, and cheeses, baked under a layer of marinara sauce. The pasta shells hold the rich filling, creating a comforting texture combining tender pasta with a moist, cheesy interior accented by Italian herbs and garlic.

Description

In this recipe, jumbo pasta shells are slightly undercooked, then stuffed with a mixture of ricotta cheese, beaten eggs, minced garlic, shredded mozzarella, and half the grated Parmesan, seasoned with dried parsley, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. The filled shells are arranged in a baking dish and covered with marinara sauce before baking.

The baking process melds the flavors as the cheeses melt and the eggs help bind the filling, resulting in shells that are tender yet hold their shape with a flavorful, creamy center. The marinara adds acidity and moisture, balancing the richness of the cheeses.

Ricotta Stuffed Shells make a satisfying main dish suitable for family dinners or casual gatherings, served warm directly from the baking dish and optionally garnished with additional Parmesan.
