Roasted Peaches
Description
The Roasted Peaches recipe uses fresh peaches halved and pitted, then packed with a blend of brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Butter slices placed on top melt into the cavities during baking, creating a rich, caramelized finish. Baking at 375°F for about 15-18 minutes softens the peaches until tender yet holding their shape. This method intensifies their natural sugars and adds a warm spice note from cinnamon.
This dessert balances gentle sweetness with the acidity and texture of the peaches. The caramelized butter and sugar mixture creates a luscious syrup pooling around the fruit. It can be served immediately, optionally with vanilla ice cream or other toppings like whipped cream or nuts, adding complementary textures and flavors. The roasted peaches also work well as a topping for pancakes, waffles, or oatmeal.
For variation, peaches can be grilled or air fried with the same sugar and butter topping, giving another dimension of caramelization. Leftovers can be refrigerated and enjoyed within a few days.
