Roasted Tenderstem Broccoli

Report
Roasted Tenderstem Broccoli offers a tender texture with a crisp finish enhanced by olive oil and fresh lemon juice. The simple seasoning of sea salt and black pepper complements the naturally sweet and slightly earthy flavors of the broccoli. Roasting at 200°C softens the stems while preserving some bite, making it an easy and healthy side dish for various meals.

Description

Roasted Tenderstem Broccoli is prepared by drizzling the vegetable with olive oil and lemon juice, then seasoning with salt and pepper before roasting at a high temperature. The method ensures the broccoli cooks tender while developing a slight caramelization that brings out its natural sweetness. Roasting also helps the lemon juice infuse subtly, contributing a fresh citrus note.

The texture balances between tender stems and slightly crisp tips, creating a pleasant contrast. The minimal seasoning preserves the fresh, green vegetable character of the broccoli without overpowering it. The simplicity allows it to pair well with a range of main dishes from grilled proteins to grains.

This recipe can be served warm as an easy vegetable side that brightens a meal. Additional garnishes such as pine nuts can add crunch and red chili flakes can be used to introduce heat for variation.

When selecting broccoli, slicing thick stems can improve tenderness. The cooking time provided ensures the broccoli is cooked through without becoming mushy.
