Rolo Pretzels
Description
This recipe arranges 36 square pretzels on a baking sheet and places one Rolo caramel chocolate candy on each. The pretzels with the Rolos are baked at a low temperature (250°F) just until the Rolos begin to soften but not fully melt. Immediately after removing from the oven, a single M&M candy is pressed onto each Rolo, embedding it into the caramel for a decorative and colorful finish.
The treats cool at room temperature to set, forming a bite-sized snack that balances salty crunch from the pretzel with the chewy sweetness of the caramel chocolate and the crisp candy shell of the M&M. Variations include changing M&M colors for holidays or substituting nuts like pecans or almonds for the M&M on top.
These treats can be served immediately or stored in an airtight container for up to one week, making them convenient for seasonal celebrations or quick homemade gifts.
M&M colors can be varied seasonally or by preference, and different M&M types (white chocolate, peanut butter) can be used.Replace M&Ms with nuts such as pecan halves, almonds, or walnuts to make "Rolo pretzel turtles."Omit the candy topping and decorate softened Rolo candies with sprinkles instead.Change candy colors to suit other holidays like Halloween, Easter, or Thanksgiving for versatile treat options.
