RubySnap Judy Orange Cream Cookies

RubySnap Judy Orange Cream Cookies feature a soft dough enriched with butter, sugar, eggs, sour cream, and orange zest, rolled into individual cookies with a tender crumb. The sweet orange cream frosting complements the cookies with butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and orange zest, adding a creamy citrus topping. Chilling the dough ensures a better texture during baking.

Description

This cookie recipe blends softened butter and sugar until fluffy, combined with eggs, sour cream, and orange zest to introduce moisture and citrus flavor directly into the dough. Flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt are incorporated for structure and leavening. After chilling, the dough balls are placed on cookie sheets and baked until just set, ensuring a soft texture.

The frosting consists of creamed butter and softened cream cheese mixed with powdered sugar and orange zest, creating a sweet and tangy topping spread or piped over cooled cookies. Adding extra orange zest as garnish enhances the citrus aroma and appearance.

These cookies are suitable as a flavorful citrus treat that balances sweetness with brightness from orange components, making them distinct among classic sugar cookies.
