Salted Bourbon Chocolate Pie

Salted Bourbon Chocolate Pie combines a rich bittersweet chocolate ganache with heavy cream and a splash of bourbon, all nestled in a graham cracker crust. The pie sets firm after chilling and is finished with a sprinkle of coarsely ground sea salt that contrasts the sweet, creamy chocolate. Its dense and silky texture makes small slices satisfying and indulgent. This pie is suitable for special occasions or when a decadent dessert with a boozy note and salted accent is desired.

Description

The Salted Bourbon Chocolate Pie uses a graham cracker crust filled with a ganache made by melting bittersweet chocolate into boiling heavy cream, then enhanced with vanilla and bourbon. Once poured into the crust, it chills for several hours until firm. The ganache’s silky, smooth texture is rich with bittersweet chocolate and a warm bourbon undertone. Topping with coarse sea salt just before serving adds a savory contrast that heightens the chocolate flavor.

This pie is carved into small servings given its richness, making it well-suited for dessert plates on its own or accompanied by berries or whipped cream. The bourbon flavor gives it a mature profile ideal for adult gatherings or dinner parties. Its firm set texture allows for neat slicing.

Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to two weeks, or the pie can be frozen after the ganache has set, then thawed in the refrigerator before serving. Variations include substituting bourbon with amaretto or chocolate liqueur or omitting alcohol and adding roasted coconut and macadamia nuts for texture and flavor contrast.
