Salted Caramel Brownies
Description
This brownie recipe involves melting a combination of butter, semisweet chocolate chips, and unsweetened chocolate, which forms a luscious base. Eggs, espresso powder, vanilla, and sugar are whisked separately before being combined with the melted chocolate mixture and dry ingredients including flour, baking powder, and salt. Additional semisweet chocolate chips are folded in to give bursts of chocolate throughout.
A caramel sauce made by melting caramel candies with milk is swirled into half of the brownie batter in the pan, layered, then baked at 350°F for about 35 minutes. After baking, more melted caramel is drizzled on top and sprinkled with flake salt, creating a contrast of sweet and salty that complements the dense, fudgy brownies.
The espresso and salted caramel enhance the chocolate depth, providing a sophisticated twist on classic brownies suitable for dessert or sharing.
