Sangria ice
Description
This Sangria ice recipe blends dry red wine with water, frozen mixed berries, and fresh orange slices. After mixing, it chills overnight to allow the flavors to meld. The fruit solids are then pressed out to yield a juice-heavy base, which is sweetened with orange juice and sugar before freezing.
The freezing process involves stirring the mixture every hour to break up ice crystals, creating a finely textured frozen dessert akin to a granita. The final product is fruity and refreshing, showcasing the wine’s depth balanced by citrus and berry sweetness.
Served with fresh fruit garnishes, this sangria-inspired ice is suitable as a light dessert or palate cleanser during warm weather or after a meal.
