Savory Beef Lo Mein

Savory Beef Lo Mein combines tender flank steak, a medley of vegetables like snow peas, bell pepper, and cabbage, and lo mein noodles tossed in a flavorful sauce featuring beef broth, oyster sauce, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. The sauce thickens slightly with cornstarch to coat the ingredients well. This dish offers a balance of savory beef, fresh veggies, and well-seasoned noodles for a hearty, satisfying meal.

Description

This Savory Beef Lo Mein recipe begins with a sauce created by blending beef broth, oyster sauce, soy sauce, grated ginger, minced garlic, cornstarch, and sesame oil. The cornstarch helps thicken the sauce for better adherence to the noodles and vegetables. The beef strips cook until browned and tender, then mixed with snow peas, shredded carrot, bean sprouts, sliced red bell pepper, and shredded cabbage, which soften yet retain some crunch. The cooked lo mein noodles are tossed in last, combining all elements with the sauce for a flavorful blend of textures and tastes.

The dish balances the richness of beef with the freshness of the vegetables and a savory, slightly thickened sauce. Green onions add a mild bite as a garnish. It makes a filling dinner, suitable for making in larger quantities as noted by the recipe's intent to yield a large batch, accommodating multiple servings or leftovers.

Preparing the sauce ahead and cooking the noodles just to al dente ensures the vegetables stay crisp and the beef remains juicy. Tossing quickly at the end distributes flavors evenly.
