Sesame Roasted Green Beans

Sesame Roasted Green Beans are coated with soy sauce, garlic, and oil before roasting at a high heat to develop blistered, tender-tender-crisp beans. The addition of toasted sesame oil and sesame seeds just before finishing adds fragrance and nutty flavor. This method creates green beans with a savory and slightly caramelized exterior while maintaining a satisfying bite.

Description

This recipe prepares 1 pound of green beans, trimmed and tossed with a neutral cooking oil, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Roasting at 425°F in a single layer helps the beans blister and brown in spots, developing a savory depth.

After 15 minutes roasting, the beans are removed and drizzled with toasted sesame oil and sprinkled with sesame seeds. A quick stir redistributes the flavors, and then the beans return to the oven for 5 more minutes, allowing the sesame aroma to infuse and the beans to finish roasting to a tender-crisp texture with slightly browned edges.

These green beans make a flavorful side dish or accompaniment to many meals, offering an easy way to prepare vegetable sides with balanced savory and nutty notes.
