Sheet Pan S’mores

Sheet Pan S’mores layer classic graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows on a baking sheet and broil them briefly to toast the marshmallows and melt the chocolate. This method allows easy preparation of multiple s’mores at once with toasted marshmallow tops and gooey chocolate centers. The combination is a warm, sweet treat mimicking traditional campfire s’mores but made conveniently in the oven.

Description

The Sheet Pan S’mores recipe assembles graham crackers topped with pieces of chocolate or peanut butter cups and marshmallows on a sheet pan. The pan is placed on the lowest oven rack under the broiler, which is preheated to high. This positioning allows marshmallows to puff up and turn golden brown gradually, while the chocolate beneath melts without burning. The broiling typically takes 1-3 minutes, requiring close attention to prevent dryness or burn.

The result is toasted marshmallows that are soft inside with a lightly crisp surface, coupled with melted chocolate and the crunchy graham crackers as the base and final topping. This provides a satisfying texture contrast and a familiar blend of sweet flavors.

Once removed from the oven, the top layer of graham crackers is placed over the marshmallows and chocolate to form the sandwich. These s’mores are best served immediately to enjoy the melted chocolate and warm marshmallow gooeyness before cooling and setting. This oven method simplifies making multiple s’mores together for a group.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 24 graham crackers
  • 12 chocolate lindt is my favorite, or use peanut butter cups, squares
  • 12 marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Place your oven rack on the lowest level of the oven. This is important! We’re using the broiler, and placing it on the lowest rack gives the marshmallows and chocolate a minute or two to toast and melt before burning.
  2. Preheat the broiler in your oven to high. Place 12 graham crackers on a sheet pan. Top each with a piece of chocolate or a peanut butter cup. Top each with a marshmallow.
  3. Place the sheet pan in the oven for 1 to 3 minutes - keeping your eye on it the whole time. This will all depend on your broiler! You want the marshmallows puffed and golden brown on top.
  4. Remove the pan from the oven and top with the remaining graham crackers. Serve immediately.
