Shrimp Alfredo
Description
Shrimp Alfredo combines shrimp lightly seasoned with Old Bay seasoning and quickly pan-fried until pink and cooked through. The fettuccine noodles are cooked to al dente and combined with a sauce prepared by gently sautéing minced garlic in butter, then simmering heavy cream to reduce slightly. Grated Parmesan cheese is stirred in until melted, forming a creamy, cheesy sauce.
The sauce-coated noodles are briefly simmered together to meld flavors and heat thoroughly. The cooked shrimp are placed atop the pasta, resulting in a dish that balances the rich dairy sauce with the savory spiced shrimp and the pasta’s tender bite.
This classic pasta is commonly served immediately to enjoy the sauce's creaminess and the shrimp’s texture. No additional garnishes are indicated, allowing the simplicity of the ingredients to shine.
Ingredients
Seasoned Shrimp
- 1 pound Shrimp cleaned and deveined
- 1-2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning blackened
Alfredo Sauce
- ½ cup butter salted
- 2 teaspoon garlic minced
- 2 ½ cups whipping cream (35%)
- 1 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
- 500-600 grams fettucine noodles or dry, fresh
Instructions
- Cook the noodles in a large pot of salted boiling water until they are al dente, around 5-6 minutes. For dry pasta, follow the package instructions.
- Combine the butter and minced garlic in a large skillet. Fry the garlic for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Add in the whipping cream and then bring to a low simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes or so, reducing the liquid.
- Add in the Parmesan, tossing until it’s melted in completely. Cook until the sauce reduces to your liking, then add in the cooked, drained fettuccine noodles. Simmer for another 2-3 minutes to warm the pasta and cook it slightly further.
- When it’s almost done, sprinkle the shrimp with the seasoning and then fry the shrimp quickly in a small frying pan until pink all the way through. Shrimp cook in around 4-5 minutes.
- To plate, place the a sauce covered noodles on the plate and top with shrimp.
