Shrimp Scampi Recipe with Linguine Pasta

Shrimp Scampi with Linguine Pasta features sautéed shrimp cooked with asparagus in butter and garlic, then combined with broth and cream to make a rich sauce. The addition of fresh parsley, diced tomato, and lemon juice brightens the dish, while Parmesan cheese and linguine provide a comforting pasta base. The dish balances creamy, savory, and citrus flavors with tender shrimp and crisp-tender asparagus for a satisfying meal.

Description

This Shrimp Scampi recipe begins by quickly sautéing trimmed and chopped asparagus in olive oil just long enough to remain crisp-tender. Large peeled and deveined shrimp are then cooked briefly in butter with minced garlic until mostly pink. Broth and heavy cream are added to the pan and gently reduced over medium heat to thicken the sauce, seasoned with salt and cracked black pepper. Fresh parsley, diced Roma tomato, and freshly squeezed lemon juice are stirred in toward the end to add herbal freshness, acidity, and a touch of sweetness.

The sauce is tossed with cooked linguine noodles and finished with grated Parmesan cheese, balancing the bright, buttery flavors with savory richness. The shrimp are tender but not overcooked, and the asparagus adds texture contrast and a mild vegetal note that complements the seafood. This version allows for substitution of other favorite long noodles or vegetables.

Served warm, this pasta dish works well for a casual meal with balanced flavors and textures. Adjust the vegetable choice as preferred, omitting asparagus or replacing it with broccoli or another vegetable. The creamy sauce coats the noodles and seafood, making it filling without heaviness.
