Skeleton Pudding Cups Recipe

Skeleton Pudding Cups are a festive dessert made by layering crushed Halloween-themed Oreos and chocolate pudding in cups, then inserting flexible skeleton decorations partially submerged in the pudding. The combination balances creamy chocolate pudding with crunchy cookie pieces, creating a playful seasonal treat that is both visually amusing and tasty.

Description

This recipe involves preparing chocolate pudding according to package instructions and layering it in cups with crushed Oreos, preferably Halloween-themed with colored filling for seasonal flair. The skeleton decorations are rinsed and cleaned thoroughly, then gently bent at joints to pose them before being placed into the pudding layers, partially covered to appear as if emerging from the dessert.

The interplay of creamy pudding and crunchy cookie bits provides varied textures. Using plastic cups facilitates portioning and presentation, making these suitable for parties or themed events. Additional festive toppings like a marshmallow shaped pumpkin can enhance the appearance.

This dessert is simple to assemble, requiring no baking, and offers a fun interactive element with the skeleton garnish. It is best served chilled and enjoyed during Halloween or fall celebrations.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 box chocolate pudding mix Prepared as directed
  • 1 pkg Oreos Halloween edition

Instructions

  1. I cut off each skeleton and let them soak in some hot water and soap first. Then I gave them a good scrub to make sure they were nice and clean. From there, I bent them at their joints (don't use too much force so the limbs don't actually fall off).
  2. Crush up some Oreos. I used the Halloween Oreos(orange filling) but you can use any (The Chocolate filled would work great too!). I scooped a few tablespoons into the bottom of each cup.
  3. Make Chocolate pudding as directed on the box. Note.1 Large Chocolate Instant Pudding Box was perfect for 4 cups.
  4. Fill plastic cups with a layer of Oreo, then chocolate pudding, about 1/2 way full. Plop in the skeleton and fill it with a little more pudding and crushed Oreos. Add a Mallow pumpkin for the perfect touch!
