Skillet Lasagna

Skillet Lasagna combines browned ground beef, onions, and garlic with marinara sauce, beef broth, and farfalle noodles cooked together in one pan. Cheese is stirred in and melted atop the dish for a quick, layered pasta meal with savory flavors and a creamy finish.

Description

This Skillet Lasagna starts by browning ground beef with diced onions and minced garlic, building a savory base. After draining excess fat, marinara sauce, beef broth, and farfalle noodles are added to the skillet and simmered uncovered until the pasta is tender but retains slight firmness. This one-pan technique simplifies the traditional layering of lasagna ingredients into a stovetop casserole.

Mozzarella cheese is stirred in partway, and ricotta cheese is dotted on top before additional mozzarella covers the surface. Covered briefly, the cheese melts to create a creamy, flavorful topping that integrates well with the saucy beef and tender noodles.

The dish serves as a satisfying main course with balanced flavors from the rich beef, tangy marinara, and smooth cheese. It can be made ahead to the meat and sauce step, frozen for up to three months, and then reheated to finish cooking noodles and melting cheese. Leftovers store well refrigerated for several days.
