Skinny Margarita Recipe
Description
The Skinny Margarita Recipe calls for fresh lime juice, orange juice, silver tequila, and a touch of agave nectar to create a balanced, tangy cocktail. The rim of the glass is salted with kosher salt, achieved by moistening the rim with lime and dipping it into salt, adding a savory counterpoint to the citrus. The drink is shaken or stirred with ice to chill and combine the ingredients, resulting in a refreshing margarita with a restrained sweetness due to the limited agave nectar. The recipe scales easily to a pitcher for multiple servings, making it convenient for gatherings.
This margarita offers a lively citrus flavor from fresh limes and oranges, paired with the smoothness of silver tequila and the subtle sweetness of agave nectar. The salted rim adds texture and balance, enhancing each sip. Because of its fresh and crisp nature, it works well as a pre-dinner cocktail or during warm days when a lighter alcoholic drink is preferred.
The notes recommend silver or blanco tequilas such as Espolòn Blanco or Casa Noble Crystal for a clean, bright taste. Agave nectar can be substituted with simple syrup or honey if needed, adjusting the sweetness to preference. Preparing a pitcher version requires multiplying the fresh ingredients accordingly and following the same method of combining and serving over ice.
