Slow Cooker Bread Pudding
Description
Slow Cooker Bread Pudding is prepared by combining cubed bread with a mixture of heavy cream, eggs, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and sugar. After mixing and coating the bread cubes thoroughly, the mixture is transferred to the slow cooker, cooked on low heat until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean, indicating the custard is set. This process gently bakes the pudding producing a custardy, softly spiced dessert.
The pudding can be served warm with whipped cream to balance the sweet spices and creamy texture. Optional additions include mixing in raisins or nuts to provide contrast in flavor and texture.
